Bodegas Piqueras wines have once again reaped a magnificent harvest in the awards granted by French wine magazine Gilbert & Gaillard. At the 2023 event our wines won 18 medals, of which eight were “Double Gold” and ten were “Gold” medals.

On this occasion, eight Bodegas Piqueras wines were deemed worthy of “Double Gold”, with particular mention for Los Losares Garnacha Tintorera 2020, which scored 93 points, the best Bodegas Piqueras score achieved this year by Gilbert & Gaillard magazine. This wine, one of the most important projects undertaken the winery’s technical team in recent years, has been rated at 93 points and was awarded a “Double Gold” in this competition for the second consecutive year.

Los Losares Monastrell 2020 – 91 points
El Abuelo Selección 2019 – 91 points
Valcanto Monastrell 2020 – 90 points
Castillo de Almansa Selección 2018 – 90 points
Piqueras Wild Fermented 2022 – 90 points
Valcanto Syrah – 90 points
Juan Pablo Cantos, head winemaker at Bodegas Piqueras, underlines that it is “very important that year after year, our wines, especially the premium wines, win prizes at such leading competitions as Gilbert & Gaillard. Los Losares Garnacha Tintorera again achieving 93 points and a Double gold shows the level that our most exclusive range of wines can reach in an international context as competitive as today’s.”



A further ten wines of ours won gold medals at Gillbert & Gaillard: El Picoteo Blanco 2022, El Picoteo Rosado 2022, Castillo de Almansa Reserva 2019, Castillo de Almansa Roble 2021, Piqueras Old Vines 2020, Piqueras Gold Label 2020, Piqueras Black Label 2021, El Abuelo Sparkling 2022, Valcanto Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Valcanto Garnacha Tintorera 2021, Valcanto Garnacha Tintorera 2021.
As such, Bodegas Piqueras confirms its position as one of the leading Spanish wineries in this competition, with more than 50 medals in the last four versions of this competition, one of the best-known in France and throughout Europe.
