A story of innovation across 4 generations

We have been working as a family at Bodegas Piqueras since 1915 looking to achieve the very best quality, while respecting the land and nurturing our greatest treasure: the Almansa D.O.

A VOICE OF ONE’S OWN

Growth does not mean no longer paying attention to every detail of the production process, just as moving forward does not mean abandoning tradition.

We take quality very seriously at every stage of the winemaking process, monitoring every step: from caring for the land and tending the grapes to bottling and customer service. And we continue to do this painstakingly, just as we did when our winery was founded in 1915.

A good wine is born of love for the land and care for the countryside, which is why we carefully select the plants and oversee the pruning and the health and monitoring of the vines.

It’s about having a feel for the wine
and innovating to improve it.

The equipment at Bodegas Piqueras is state-of-the-art, optimising the processes of harvesting, pressing, filtering, bottling and labelling.

But to get the best wines, one needs to listen to the vineyards, to have a feeling for their yearly cycle; to be present in body and mind in order to identify just the right moment to harvest the grapes. And thus achieve the perfect blend for each vintage.

The spirit of our founders is still with us, as is their innovative vision of the world of wine, which we continue to develop and improve by means of new techniques, processes and styles of wine.

THE STORY OF GRANDFATHER PIQUERAS

It all started with him, grandfather Luis Piqueras López, who in 1915 began selling the wine he made himself in the small village of ‘Los Aljibes’. And the story continues over 4 generations who have dedicated themselves to producing wine within the Almansa D.O.

An appellation of origin notable for the low fertility of its soils and scant rainfall which, together with the semi-arid continental climate, allows us to obtain wines with a high concentration of colour and great aromatic richness.

This family saga combining tradition and innovation now sees us produce wines that we export to more than 45 countries.

Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell are the native grape varieties we use in almost all our wines.

We monitor the entire production process, from the choice of vine to the design of the labels, which allows us to offer guaranteed quality.

Our wines represent the essence of our land and its people, with that particular way of being and talking, both elegant and expressive.
